History Yoast was created by Joost de Valk in 2005, originally as joostdevalk.nl.[5] After moving to and eventually selling the domain “css3.info”, de Valk created the Yoast platform in 2009 and the company Yoast BV in 2010.[6][7] Initially, Yoast focused on SEO consultancy.[8] In 2012, Yoast was expanded to offer a premium model for WordPress.
