Let’s get to know Jagir Bahesh

Those are some lovely words by Nidhi. Let’s get to know Jagir a bit better and ask him some questions about his work and passion for WordPress:

Jagir, what do you do in the WordPress space?

I’m Jagir Bahesh, with over 10+ years of experience offering WordPress development and consultation services to digital marketing agencies. I specialize in creating websites, email templates, and landing pages using tools like Bootstrap and WooCommerce, as well as managing hosting and email setups. I prioritize client satisfaction and ensure timely project delivery with a focus on efficiency and precision.

In addition to this, I contribute part-time across various channels, including serving as a Core Contributor, Meetup Organizer, Meta Contributor, Pattern Author, Photo Contributor, Training Contributor, Translation Contributor, WordCamp Organizer, and WordPress.TV Contributor.

I am also dedicated to assisting newcomers to WordPress by guiding them with meetups and contribution efforts. Since 2015, I have been an active member of the WordPress Ahmedabad community, and I have had the privilege of organizing several local WordCamps. Additionally, I have contributed as an organizer for the flagship WordCamp Asia in both 2023 and 2025.

How did you first discover WordPress, and why did you start contributing?

I first discovered WordPress in 2015 when I became involved with WordPress and its community. After completing my MBA in IT, I started learning PHP and WordPress. Shortly after, I began my first job working with WordPress. While exploring the WordPress dashboard, I noticed an upcoming meetup in Ahmedabad and decided to attend to enhance my knowledge. That experience marked the beginning of my journey with the WordPress community.
Soon after, I contributed to the Polyglots channel, which was easy and enjoyable. Earning a badge for my contribution motivated me to continue contributing, and since then, my involvement in the WordPress community has only grown.

What advice would you give to someone just starting with WordPress?

I advise someone just starting with WordPress to dive into contributions early on. Contributing to WordPress helps you feel proud of your work and expands your knowledge and skills. It’s a great way to learn, grow, and become an active part of the community. So, don’t hesitate, start contributing and experience the value it brings to your personal and professional growth.

What’s your favorite WordPress memory or something you’re most proud of?

One of my favorite WordPress memories was being selected as an organizer for WordCamp Asia 2023, the first flagship WordCamp in Asia. That event was an incredible experience, and it helped me grow both personally and professionally while improving my local WordCamp community.

Additionally, I’m proud to have joined the WordPress Contributor Mentorship: 2024 Q4 Cohort and to be listed as one of the All-Star Mentees. This achievement is a significant milestone in my WordPress journey, and I’m excited to continue contributing to the community.

Where can people connect with you online, at WordCamps, or other meetups?

You can connect with me on X, Facebook, LinkedIn, GitHub, WordPress, and the Ahmedabad WordPress Meetup, or visit my website at jagirbahesh.com. I’m passionate about connecting with others and actively participate in WordPress meetups and WordCamps. Feel free to reach out to me there!
